The project uses various means, among which Internet, music and film. By means of this interdisciplinary project we’d like to try to revitalize the 1980 ethos of Solidarity – says artistic director Beata Staszynska near the historic Gate number two of the Gdansk Shipyard.
18.8.10 | Citizen Solidarity. Let’s remember the 21 postulates.
The project “Citizen Solidarity” is organized within the framework of 30 years of Solidarity. It is dedicated to Arkadiusz Rybicki who tragically died in the airplane catastrophe near Gdansk. He was politician within the party PO and co-writer of the table on which in August 1980 the 21 postulates were written.

Creating this action we, as citizens, want to talk about our own 21 postulates on how to live worthily. They will be connected to the 21 workers’ postulates that were placed near the Gdansk Shipyard, today precisely 30 years ago.

In the shadow of the spectacular commemoration show of 30 years after August 1980at the Gdansk Shipyard an event took place which wants to renew the ethos of Solidarity through the prism of modern technology. As a result a Museum of the Present is to come into place for instance.

Let’s start a new line of thinking on Solidarity – say the authors of the project “Citizen Solidarity” who want to renew the ethos of Solidarity and create 21 new postulates by means of new technologies, film and music.

During our event that has as its background the Gdansk Shipyard the word “solidarity” will be created by means of virtual letters in 23 languages of the European Union. But it even in the place of the Shipyard cranes the Eiffel Tower could be shown in 3D.
